A. As we enter into our study, let’s consider the word “diligence” [σπουδή]: “speed”, that is, (by implication) despatch, eagerness, earnestness: - business, (earnest) care (-fulness), diligence forwardness, haste” (Strong’s # 4710).
- Also translated “haste” (Mark 6:25 and Luke 1:39).
- Saints should know not to live as though we have time (Proverbs 27:1, Ephesians 5:14-17, and James 4:13-16).
B. Let’s also consider the word translated “add” [ἐπιχορηγέω]: “to furnish besides, that is, fully supply, (figuratively) aid or contribute: - add, minister (nourishment, unto)” (Strong’s # 2023). *The only time this word is translated “add” is in verse five, the four other times the word is translated including in the last verse we are looking at in this lesson:
- “Ministereth “ (II Corinthians 9:10 and Galatians 3:5).
- “Ministered” (Colossians 2:19 and II Peter 1:11).

- Allowing patience to work in your growing process (James 1:3-4).
- Making sure what we are learning is taking us the right way (I Timothy 6:3-12).
- Herein growing in grace teaches us to live godly (Titus 2:11-14).
